Two arrested over Syd baby formula theft

Two people have been arrested and will likely be charged over their involvement in a baby formula crime syndicate in Sydney's southwest.

Detectives arrested a 45-year-old man during a vehicle stop in Padstow about 11am on Tuesday, before a Bankstown business and a Chester Hill home were raided.

A 41-year-old woman - the owner of the business - was also arrested.

A significant quantity of baby formula as found during the searches, NSW Police said in a statement.

The man and woman were taken to Bankstown Police Station where they are expected to be charged.

Strikeforce Polar began investigating the suspected syndicate earlier this year. Further arrests are expected.
