Trio with hammers rob Sydney McDonald's

Three masked and hooded men armed with hammers have robbed a McDonald's during the breakfast run in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

The trio entered the Kingsford fast-food restaurant at about 5.45am on Wednesday and took cash before jumping out of the building through a drive-thru window and fleeing on foot, police said.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and say one of the men is short and thin, the second is described as of medium build and average height, and the third is described as tall and thin.
