Teen terror accused to stay in custody

A Sydney teenager charged in connection to the fatal shooting of NSW police accountant Curtis Cheng will remain in custody until he's due to return to court in April.

Raban Alou, 18, is facing three charges including commit a terrorist act and did not apply for bail during a brief appearance at Sydney's Central Local Court on Wednesday.

Mr Cheng was gunned down outside Parramatta police headquarters last October by 15-year-old high school student Farhad Jabar, who was shot and killed by police soon after.

Alou was held by police for more than a week in October after being arrested in pre-dawn raids following the shooting of Mr Cheng.

As well as the charge for commit terrorist act, he is also facing accusations he was knowingly a member of a terrorist organisation and knowingly directed the activities of a criminal group.

A second man, Talal Alameddine, 22, is accused of supplying the gun that Jabar used to kill Mr Cheng.

His matters remain before the courts.

Alou is expected to appear via audio visual link at Parramatta Local Court on April 7.
