Teen allegedly hits 11-year-old with motorcycle on NSW sports field

An 11-year-old girl is in hospital with fractures to her ribs, lower back and pelvis after a youth allegedly rode a motorbike onto a sports field and struck her as she was playing football.

Police say the girl was playing in a carnival at Wagga Wagga about 12pm on Thursday when hit by the 17-year-old, who rode across two fields.

The girl is in a stable condition in Wagga Base Hospital, with multiple fractures and cuts to her leg.

The teen fell off the bike and was held by witnesses until officers arrived.

He has been charged with multiple offences including riding in a dangerous manner occasioning grievous bodily harm and being an unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured rider.

He has been refused bail and will appear in a children's court on Friday.
