Teen girls charged with robbing Syd taxi

A teenage girl is seriously injured and three others have been charged with robbing a taxi driver after a cab crashed in Sydney's southwest.

Emergency services were called to Campbelltown about 10pm on Saturday after reports of a crash.

Police say initial investigations suggest the girls tried to rob the driver and the taxi veered off the road, crashing into an electrical box on Regent Street.

One girl suffered serious injuries and is in Randwick Hospital while a 14-year-old girl and two others, aged 15, have been charged with robbery in company.

All have been refused bail and will appear in a children's court on Sunday.
