Sydneysiders invited to name new ferries

Sydneysiders are being given the chance to name six new state government ferries.

"This is an Australian first, we're opening up naming suggestions to the public and six of those names will take a place in Sydney's history forever," NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance said in a statement.

The government wants memorable names for the new fleet due to hit the water by the end of the year. Details are on www.nameyourferry.com.au, with participants encouraged to share suggestions on social media using the hashtag #yourferry.
