Sydneysiders feel the heat
AAP
Sydney has felt with the heat with the mercury hitting 38C in parts of the city on the last day of the long weekend.
In many areas around the city's west it reached 37C and at Penrith and Holsworthy it was a sweltering 38C, the Bureau of Meteorology says.
But a BOM spokeswoman told AAP while temperatures are "significantly higher" than average in Sydney they haven't broken any records.
