Sydney sinkholes filled with cement

Workmen have spent the night pumping cement into sinkholes that led to the evacuation of two unit blocks in western Sydney.

About 50 displaced residents of the Harris Park blocks have spent a third night away from home after a sinkhole spread from an empty building site saturated by heavy rain on Saturday.

The owners of one of the properties arranged for two holes to be filled with concrete, but it's unclear when residents, who have been staying in temporary accommodation, will be able to return.

Engineers will make an assessment of the concrete fix at the site later on Tuesday, according to ABC TV.
