NSW stepdad to face court over assault

A Sydney man is due to face court for the alleged attack of his 14-year-old stepdaughter after she told school counsellors she had been assaulted.
The girl returned to her Canley Vale home after school last Tuesday and was allegedly assaulted by her 30-year-old stepfather, police say.
She suffered a deep laceration to her head and bruising to her face, arms and legs and told a student adviser at her school on Monday about the alleged attack.

The man was charged on Monday with reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on Tuesday.
