Boys arrested after public shooting, police pursuit in Sydney

Two boys are in custody and a third person is on the run after a public place shooting and police pursuit in south-west Sydney early this morning.

At about 2am, police were called to a home on Sapphire Place in Eagle Vale after reports of gunshots.

Responding officers spotted an allegedly stolen white hatchback travelling on Eagle Vale Road and tried to pull it over.

The car did not stop and a police pursuit began.

A short time later the car crashed into a tree on Thunderbolt Drive, and three people got out and fled.

PolAir was called in and officers began searching the surrounding area.

Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 17, were arrested nearby on Dakota Place and Thunderbolt Drive in Raby.

Police also allegedly seized a gun from the crashed hatchback.

There were no reports of any injuries.
