Sydney's ANZ Stadium wins upgrade battle

NSW Premier Mike Baird is set to announce ANZ Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park will undergo a major upgrade, with plans for a new facility at Moore Park to be shelved.

Mr Baird and Sports Minister Stuart Ayres are expected to make the announcement on Thursday, with reports of political infighting between the pair bringing the issue to a head.

According to Fairfax media, ANZ Stadium will be refurbished once Parramatta Stadium has been upgraded and any leftover funds will be put towards refurbishing Allianz Stadium.
