Sydney Porsche thief pleads guilty

A man who stole a Porsche and then rolled it while trying to flee police in Sydney's inner west has pleaded guilty.

Abdul Elali, 30, was accused of stealing the luxury car from a Vaucluse property, in Sydney's east, and then hours later rolling it after crashing into a Leichhardt pedestrian crossing while police pursued him in January.

Elali didn't appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday when the guilty plea was entered for several charges including driving while disqualified and stealing a motor vehicle.

His case returns to court on Thursday.
