Sydney man found with loaded gun in car

A loaded handgun and methamphetamine have been found in a car in a Sydney suburb with a man due to face court on firearm and drug charges.

A police patrol stopped a car on Monday evening in Yagoona and, after speaking to two men, searched the vehicle. Officers allegedly found the firearm and the drugs.

The 36-year-old driver was arrested and charged and refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday. His 43-year-old passenger was released without charge.
