Sydney man faces child sex charges

A 42-year-old man has been charged over the sexual assault of a young girl in Sydney's southwest over a 10-year period.
The alleged assaults started in 1999 when the girl was aged five, while the man was living in a house in Canley Vale, police say.
The assaults occurred on an ongoing basis until 2009, police say.

The man was arrested in Ruse on Wednesday.
He has been charged with 22 offences, including aggravated sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, incite act of indecency and common assault.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on September 17.
