Sydney Macca's robbery run foiled

Two armed men have fled a McDonald's drive-through empty handed after an attempted robbery was thwarted in Sydney's southwest overnight.

With their faces and hands covered and armed with what looked like guns, the bandits confronted a female worker at the window of the drive-through of the Prestons McDonald's at 2am on Wednesday.

The attempt was foiled when the quick-thinking McDonald's manager told staff to lock themselves in an office and called police as the two men fled the scene.
