Sydney Fruit World goes up in flames again
A Sydney fruit shop has been severely damaged by fire less than four months after another suspicious blaze ripped through the business.
Emergency services were called to Fruit World in Sylvania about 5 am on Saturday to find the property well alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews extinguished the blaze but not before residents were evacuated from nearby homes and the Princes Highway was briefly closed.
Police established a crime scene and guarded the building until investigators arrived later on Saturday morning.
"Inquiries into the cause of the fire continue and police have urged anyone with information about unusual or suspicious activity in the area to come forward," a spokesperson said in a statement.
Fruit World was also damaged in late April by a fire which remains under investigation.
