Sydney driver clocked at 104km over limit

A 24-year-old man from Merrylands in western Sydney has been arrested and charged after police clocked his vehicle travelling more than 100 kilometres an hour over the speed limit.

Highway Patrol officers detected two vehicles allegedly engaged in a street race on the M4 at Auburn about 1.50am on Saturday.

One of the vehicles was speed-checked at 194km/h in 90km/h zone.

The driver was charged with street racing, speed manner dangerous and exceed speed over 45km/h.

His licence was immediately suspended and his registration plates suspended for three months.

The man was given notice to appear at Burwood Local Court on January 14.
