Sydney council's ICAC probe to begin
AAP
Public hearings are set to begin into allegations staff at a Sydney council defrauded more than $4.2 million and misused power for personal gain.
Former Botany Bay Council chief financial officer Gary Goodman is being investigated by ICAC over allegations he solicited and received payments as a reward for showing favourable treatment to contractors.
It's alleged he and other council workers dishonestly exercised official functions to obtain financial benefits for themselves and others.
