Sydney cops smash alleged ice ring

Police have smashed an alleged Sydney ice syndicate, arresting nine people in searches across the city.

Officers raided 13 properties on Wednesday and executed more search warrants on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation.

Two men, aged 55 and 45, who had been under investigation by detectives since August 2015 were arrested on Wednesday morning.

Police allege the younger man was the main upline supplier of the drug to the older man, who was selling to associates across Sydney.

Officers found the drug ice and GHB in the older man's car, as well as cash.

Both men were charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and participating in a criminal group.

The 55-year-old is expected to face Fairfield Local Court on Thursday, while the 45-year-old is expected to appear at Central Local Court.

Seven associates, including three men and four women, were arrested in searches of properties in 10 Sydney suburbs.

Officers seized 314g of ice, 77g of cocaine, 62g of ecstasy, a litre of GHB as well as cannabis and cash.
