Sydney cemetery under administration
AAP
Australia's largest and oldest cemetery in Sydney's west has been placed under administration by the NSW government.
Rookwood Cemetery's chair plus two other board members have resigned after draft findings from an investigation into the governance, pricing and interment services at the cemetery were released last month.
NSW Minister for Primary Industries Niall Blair is considering the findings and will appoint an external administrator so the cemetery, where one million people are buried over the 286-hectare suburb, can continue to operate.
