Sydney builder fined over Coogee pollution
AAP
A Sydney builder who pumped untreated sediment-laden water into storm drains which flowed into Coogee Beach has been fined more than $8500.
Randwick City Council officers traced the source of the pollution after beach-goers at Coogee reported seeing cloudy water coming from a stormwater pipe on February 20.
The man, who council said was using drains in a lane behind a building site on Mount Street, Coogee was issued with a prevention notice and a $8520 fine.
