Two survivors of Sydney dance instructor Grant Davies have spoken publicly of their horrific abuse at the hands of the confessed pedophile.

One boy was in year seven when Davies, a man he looked up to as a father figure, began sexually assaulting him on a weekly basis.

"Grant sexually abused me on a regular basis from 2003 until I left RG Dance some time in 2004," the survivor told the child abuse royal commission at a hearing in Sydney on Friday.

"It is difficult to think of a time when he didn't abuse me on the Thursday evenings he drove me home."

The survivor didn't tell anyone of the abuse until about six years later, when he told his girlfriend and mother of the persistent attacks he endured.

He later sought professional help and came forward to police after Davies was arrested in 2013.

"It was an horrendous time in my life," he said.

"The abuse that I suffered has had two irrecoverable effects, from the guilt and shame I felt as a teenager, to the grief I still feel for my younger self."
