Syd man faces assault, firearm charges

A Sydney man will face court after police allegedly found a gun at a home they were called to following reports of a domestic assault.
It's alleged officers found a .22 calibre rifle which had been cut off while searching the home in Milperra on Sunday night.
The firearm was seized for forensic examination, police say.

A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with possess unauthorised firearm and common assault.
It's alleged the man assaulted a woman in the home earlier in the evening.
He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Thursday.
