RELATIONSHIPS

* 49.4pct of people over 15 were married

* 8.3pct were divorced

* 33.5pct had never been married

* Couples with children made up 45.5pct of households while 36.6pct of couples had no children

* Average number of children per family was 1.9

WHERE THEY LIVE

* Almost 70pct lived in a separate house, 18.8pct lived in a flat or apartment

* 37.8pct of dwellings with one vehicle, 34pct with two vehicles, 14.6pct with three or more vehicles

EDUCATION

* 30.9% of people in NSW were attending an educational institution

* 25.7% in primary school, 21.2% in secondary school and 22.1% at tertiary or technical institutions

* More than 3 million people in NSW were employed

* 60pct were working full-time, 28pct working part-time, almost 6pct were unemployed

* 45pct of respondents said they worked 40 hours or more per week
