A person of interest in the case of missing toddler William Tyrrell is set to find out if his bid for bail is successful.

William Spedding, 63, was charged in April for allegedly sexually abusing two girls, then aged three and six, in Sydney in 1987.

The charges were laid after detectives began looking into Spedding while investigating the disappearance of three-year-old William, who disappeared on the NSW mid-north coast last September.

Spedding made an application for bail in the NSW Supreme Court on Wednesday, with the judgement expected to be handed down in a Sydney court on Friday.

He has denied any involvement in missing William's case.
