Soccer fight leaves policer officer with broken bones

A man has been charged after two off-duty police officer suffered serious injuries in a fight at an indoor soccer match in southwest Sydney.

A fight broke out on Monday night after the police team scored a goal at the Minto Sporting Complex, with members of the opposing team allegedly assaulting an officer and then leaving before police arrived.

On Tuesday, a 23-year-old handed himself into the police and was arrested and charged with assault.

Three men were taken to hospital, with one officer suffering a suspected broken jaw and head injuries, another with a possible broken nose and a third man suffering a suspected fractured elbow.
