Man, 20, disappears while snorkelling off Lord Howe Island

The search is set to resume this morning for a 20-year-old man who went missing while snorkelling off Lord Howe Island.

NSW police say the man's friends became concerned when he failed to return after going snorkelling around 20 metres from the shore on Middle Beach yesterday afternoon.

The man was wearing boardshorts, fins, googles and a snorkel.

Members of the public helped search for the man alongside police and emergency services on the island yesterday and are expected to also take part today.
