Sydney raids target ice syndicate: cops

Six people have been arrested and almost half a kilogram of drugs seized in raids targeting a "high-end" ice syndicate across Sydney's southwest.

Police attached to the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad (MEOCS) conducted search warrants at Yagoona, Sefton, Mount Pritchard and a hotel in Bass Hill at 7am on Tuesday, finding cash, drugs, electronics and drug paraphernalia.

A Lexus 4WD suspected of being from the proceeds of crime was also seized.

Two men, 26 and 19, were arrested at Yagoona and charged with commercial drug supply and directing a criminal group.

The 19-year-old was also charged with assaulting police during the search.

Superintendent Peter McErlain said the arrests were linked to a high-end organised crime network.

"Drug dealers, they peddle poison to our community," he said.

"There are multiple entities in this particular crime network, not just one particular name."

Four others were arrested on drug supply, money laundering and criminal group participation charges.

All six were bail refused to appear at court this week.

The arrests were conducted under MEOCS's Strike Force Amarina.

Since its establishment in July last year Amarina has arrested 14 people, seized more than two kilograms of drugs and confiscated cash, vehicles and weapons.
