Six arrested in NSW contraband operation

Six people have been caught trying to smuggle drugs, steroids and knives into a prison south of Sydney.
Shoalhaven Police searched more than 200 visitors and 50 cars for contraband on their way to visit prisoners at the South Coast Correctional Centre in Nowra on Saturday.
Two people also tested positive to methylamphetamine.

Acting Superintendent Tim Beattie said more contraband searches would be carried out in the future at the jail which caters for up to 600 maximum and minimum security prisoners.
