Shorten to join Sydney Mardi Gras parade
AAP
Opposition leader Bill Shorten will be the cherry atop the Rainbow Labor float at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade on Saturday night.
It will be the first time a party leader has participated, although there have been frequent appearances by politicians at the iconic event, including openly-gay MP Alex Greenwich.
It's believed deputy Labor leader Tanya Plibersek will join Mr Shorten.
