Second man charged over fatal NSW stabbing

A man has been charged in relation to the stabbing murder of a NSW Central Coast footballer earlier this month.

He's the second person to be charged over a late-night confrontation in Toukley that left 28-year-old Greg Gibbins dead.

Mr Gibbins had left The Beachcomber Hotel around midnight on April 5 and headed to a nearby pizza shop.

He was standing outside the eatery when he was stabbed in the chest and later died in hospital.

Two days later, 19-year-old Bradley James Brooks was arrested by police at a home in nearby Halekulani and charged with murder.

He remains in custody.

On Wednesday, police arrested another 19-year-old man in relation to Mr Gibbon's death.

He was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and wielding a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail to appear in Wyong Local Court on Thursday.

Mr Gibbins, a car spray painter and Wyong Roos rugby league hooker, has been remembered as a quiet, unassuming man who was loved by his footy teammates.

Another man, 25, was also stabbed in the confrontation and underwent surgery but has since been released from hospital.
