Body found in NSW floodwaters
A body believed to be that of a man missing for five days has been recovered in floodwaters near the central western NSW town of Forbes.
Search teams made the find just before 5pm on Wednesday.
Although the body is yet to be formally identified, it is thought to be that of 49-year-old Robert Linnane.
Mr Linnane was last seen on Friday at a lake near Burcher, southwest of Forbes, where his car and boat trailer were found.
The submerged craft was spotted during aerial searches over the weekend but there was no sign of him.
A wider search involving more than 100 volunteers has been combing the flood-ravaged area since Saturday.
Mr Linnane was a respected member of the Burcher community, where he was president of the local golf and cricket clubs and the captain of the Rural Fire Brigade.
His family has described him as a dedicated family man with a partner, three daughters and grandchildren.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
