Search becomes homicide case for NSW woman

A woman who went missing in the Hunter region of NSW three months ago may have been murdered, police believe.

Carly McBride, 31, from Belmont, Newcastle disappeared in September.

"Our inquiries have now led us to believe that the missing person has met with foul play and is deceased," said Det Insp Timothy Seymour.

Police have launched a two-day search of the Muswellbrook area as part of the homicide investigation.

Ms McBride is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 165cm to 175cm tall, with a thin build and brown hair and eyes.
