Restaurants evacuated after Sydney CBD fire

Patrons were evacuated after a restaurant fire in the Sydney CBD last night.
The blaze broke out in the basement of Italian restaurant, Fratelli Fresh, on Bridge Street.

Staff and diners crowded on the street outside the building after Fire and Rescue NSW crews arrived and extinguished the blaze. Emergency services were called after thick smoke was seen in a nearby laneway.
Neighbouring restaurant The Rockpool was also evacuated.
There were no reported injuries.
