Rally against Chinese home buyers

Protesters are expected to descend on the Chinese consulate in Sydney on Saturday to rally against the "Chinese invasion" of the Australian property market.

Leaflets attacking Chinese property buyers as "greedy foreign invaders" who are "pricing locals out of the market" were distributed to thousands of homes in Sydney's lower north shore and inner west this week.

The rally-promoting flyers were organised by a group called the Party for Freedom whose leader Nick Folkes has denied being racist.

He has instead claimed that he is worried about the amount of foreign investment in Australia telling the ABC that "(Australians) own very little of Australia and something needs to be done about it".

Lane Cove mayor David Brooks-Horn said that he believed the flyers were divisive and inflammatory.
