RAAF Hercules to fly over Sydney

An RAAF C-130J Hercules will swoop over central Sydney as part of celebrations for the Air Force's 95th anniversary.

The Hercules is due to approach the CBD from the east and fly over Martin Place at about 300 metres, roughly the same height as Sydney Tower, at 11.30am on Thursday before turning and heading out of the harbour through Sydney Heads.

A commemorative service will be held in Martin Place as the plane passes by, celebrating the 95th anniversary of the world's second oldest independent air force, Air Commodore Richard Lennon said.
