Queensland man arrested after Sydney police lead on 100km-long chase

A 26-year-old Queensland man has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a 100km pursuit this afternoon.

The chase began after the driver allegedly refused to stop for a random breath test on Dixon Street, Parramatta at about 1.10pm today.

A pursuit, which began on Boundary Street in Parramatta, was later terminated on the Great Western Highway at Westmead.

The Commodore was spotted again on the Cumberland Highway at Liverpool at around 1.50pm, whereupon police resumed their pursuit.

Police chased the car through a number of streets in Liverpool and onto the Hume Motorway.

The car stopped on the Colo Vale off-ramp on the Hume Motorway, whereupon the driver allegedly fled the vehicle on foot, only to be arrested a short distance away.

The driver was taken to Bowral Police Station where he continues to assist police with inquiries.

There were no reports of injury, and police are yet to press charges.
