Their song Friday On My Mind was a number-one hit in Australia, number six in Britain and made the top 20 in the US.

After the band broke up, Wright delivered two of Australia's greatest rock albums of the 70s - Hard Road (1974) and Black-Eyed Bruiser (1975).

He died in Moruya on the NSW south coast on December 27, aged 68, after falling ill with pneumonia.

His funeral will be held at St Andrews Cathedral at 11am on Friday and is open to all family, friends and fans.

Wright's partner, Fay Walker and his son, Nick, from a previous marriage are expected to attend.
