Potato farm fined over truck driver death
AAP
A potato farm in central NSW has been fined more than $185,000 over the death of a truck driver in a forklift accident.
In 2013 the 57-year-old man was run over by a forklift at Oakville Produce Pty Ltd's potato farm on Kidman Way in Hillston, with SafeWork NSW saying the death could have been prevented.
"This incident serves as a reminder to the agriculture industry of the importance of effective traffic management systems and I urge all agriculture businesses to develop one before there is a pedestrian injury or death at their workplace," SafeWork NSW's executive director of Peter Dunphy said.
