Police seize $3m worth of cocaine hidden in toy helicopters, biscuit jars and cutlery shipments

NSW Police have intercepted more than $3m worth of cocaine hidden in toy helicopters, biscuit jars and cutlery shipments in a series of raids over the past month.
A parcel of cocaine sent from South America destined for a Mount Colah property was detected by police on March 2.
A 42-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were stopped in their vehicle and arrested in Wahroonga the following day and taken to a local police station.
Police then raided a Kogarah Bay home, seizing 1.2kg of white powder believed to be cocaine, $170,000 in cash and other items.
A second search warrant was executed at Mount Colah where electronic items were seized.
The Kogarah man was charged with multiple offences and the woman was released pending further inquiries.
The man will appear before local court tomorrow.
On March 5 police identified and seized toy helicopters containing two further packages of cocaine sent from Panama, weighing a total of 1.76kg.
Yesterday, a further 1.3kg of the drug was intercepted in a shipment of cutlery and biscuit jars. This parcel had originated from Amsterdam.
It will be alleged in court all shipments are linked.
In total, 4.26kg of cocaine has been seized, with a potential street value of approximately $3.1 million.
