Police search for boy who went missing on his bike 40 years ago

Macquarie Fields Police are appealing for information on a man who has been missing from Sydney’s south west since 1976.

Stephen Turvey, then 15-years-old, was last seen at a home in Glenfield in November 1976 and was reported missing after failing to return home from an afternoon bike ride.

Mr Turvey, who would now be aged 53, was described as Causasian, with a slim build and shoulder length brown hair at the time of his disappearance.

While sightings have been reported in Western Australia Mr Turvey has never been located.

The Turvey family are appealing to the public and to Stephen himself.

“We are seeking any assistance from the community to locate our brother, Stephen.

“And Stephen, if you are reading or seeing this, we would love to hear from you. Any communication would be more than welcome. Love from all your family,” Turvey Family said.

The ongoing investigation is a part of Missing Persons Week, an annual campaign running from Sunday 3 August to Saturday 9 August.
