Police storm property at Mangrove Mountain on NSW Central Coast

Heavily armed police have seized a firearm while storming a NSW property after a three-hour siege, but its owner is on the run.

Shortly before 5.30pm, police entered a property near the corner of Bloodtree Road and Wisemans Ferry Road where they were searching for a gunman.

Officers from Brisbane Waters local area command had been called in at 9.30am today, by a neighbour of the man who had been shot upon while driving on Waratah Road.

It is understood a man who was driving and the gunman had earlier had a confrontation about a neighbourhood matter.

After three hours spent surrounding the property, police entered and found a firearm thought to have been involved in the earlier incident.

They did not locate the man.

Several ambulances were on standby, and police had closed down surrounding roads.

Police were this evening executing a search warrant on the property.
