Empty box sparks Sydney police operation

A Sydney intersection has been reopened after an empty cardboard box was assessed in a police operation.
Police were called to the corner of Cleveland and Chalmers streets in Redfern about 4.35pm on Thursday, with Channel Nine reporting a suspicious package had been found.
A police spokeswoman told AAP a cardboard box was assessed and was found to be empty.

Roads were reopened around 5.30pm.
