Police hunt man after Tamworth attacks

One man may be responsible for two separate sex attacks at Tamworth overnight, investigators believe.

NSW Police say the first incident occurred just after 11pm on Saturday, when an 18-year-old woman was indecently assaulted by a man on a bike.

He asked her to go into the park with him and when she refused he rode off.

About three hours later, a 22-year-old woman was walking through Bicentennial Park when she was grabbed from behind, forced to the ground and sexually assaulted.

Her assailant also left the scene by bike.

Investigating officers from Oxley Local Area Command believe the two attacks may be linked and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
