Police assaulted at huge Sydney party

A police officer has been hit in the head and another officer kicked by a teenage girl as riot police tried to shut down a huge party in Sydney's northwest.

Police say about 200 people, many of them drunk, were partying at Oxford Street in Epping on Saturday night when they were asked to move on due to safety concerns.

A 16-year-old girl was taken to Ryde Police Station for allegedly kicking an officer, using offensive language and resisting arrest, but has since been released pending further inquiries.
