Plea due from Angry's son's alleged killer

A young man accused of murdering rocker Angry Anderson's son on Sydney's northern beaches will have to enter a plea when his case next returns to court.

Mathew Flame, 21, was allegedly under the influence of MDMA, marijuana and alcohol when he beat Liam Anderson, 26, to death on a Queenscliff street in November 2018.

Flame appeared via video link in Central Local Court on Tuesday, where the prosecution said a charge certificate had been served and sought an adjournment of eight weeks.

A case conference will be held in the meantime on July 11, agreed to by Flame's lawyer Tayla Merriman.

Magistrate Clare Farnan adjourned the matter to August 20 when Flame is due to enter his plea. The case will then be transferred to a higher court for either trial or sentence.
