Pedestrian killed at Lake Macquarie

A 45-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle as he crossed a road in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Toronto.
Police say it's believed the Teralba man was crossing the road at about 9.10pm on Saturday when he was hit by a Nissan Patrol.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the John Hunter Hospital where he died.

The driver of the Nissan, a 68-year-old Gwandalan man, was not injured but was taken to Belmont Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
