Pedestrian dies after struck by car in NSW

A 76-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car while using a pedestrian crossing in northern NSW.
The man suffered serious head injuries after being struck on Markham Street in Armidale on Friday afternoon and was transported to hospital in a critical condition where he later died, NSW Police said in a statement.
The 46-year-old female driver was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result. She was transported to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
