Pair in NSW car assaulted with tyre lever

A man and a woman have been attacked with a tyre lever allegedly by a man known to them, who was subsequently subdued by a taser and charged in Sydney's west.

It's alleged the man, 30, assaulted the pair in a car in Parramatta on Wednesday night and was pursued by police after he ran off and tasered when he threatened officers.

He was arrested and charged with five offences and has been granted conditional bail before a court appearance next week, while the injured pair, both aged 26, were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
