NSW woman wakes to find lewd man in home

A woman alone in her Newcastle home has allegedly woken to find an intruder performing sex acts in front of her.

When the 50-year-old got up to confront the stranger on the veranda of her Mayfield house early on Tuesday morning, he allegedly repeated the display before leaving.

Police say the 50-year-old offender was later arrested at a home in the same suburb and charged with three offences including committing an act of indecency.

He was refused bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday.
